And Then Some News

Before announcing Thursday's essay, let me first remind readers of two of our new books. The first is Relationship Rules: For Long-term Happiness, Security, and Commitment. If you know of someone just starting out in a relationship or if you know someone who is having relationship trouble, this book will make a terrific gift. It is especially a great book if you know a man who is in any relationship whatever, and you know, in advance, that he will read it.

The second reminder has to do with the publication of Civilian in an Ill-Fitting Uniform by Edgar E. Willis. If you are a veteran of any war, if you enjoy reading history, or if you just like a good, well-written, interesting book that will hold your attention and provide you some new insights and information, this is a terrific book. Just like the book above, it can be purchased at Amazon.com.

Thursday’s essay is called, “The luxury of travel by car.” Many people have a different definition of luxury than we do, but the way we travel by car, for us, is pure luxury. This essay includes suggestions for traveling by car that are both practical and economical.. It is worth a read just for the suggestions included for a comfortable form of travel.

Share your link. Have you written anything about traveling economically? Are you a person who has faced travel by car and dealt with it successfully? How important is early preparation in traveling by car? What kind of preparation makes the most sense? Can you share some insights about how to prepare, how important it is, or what happens when there is a lack of thorough preparation? What would you like to tell people about the importance of preparation in traveling? Share your link with us. We’ll post it and move traffic in your direction. And, a big “thank you,” in advance, from AndThenSomeWorks.com, for sharing your link.

Thursday's And Then Some Essay preview:
The Luxury of Travel by Car
by Richard L. Weaver II

Excerpt:

The dictionary defines “luxury” as something that is not necessary to life, health, or subsistence, and something, too, that ministers to one’s comfort and pleasure. What is “comfort” or “pleasure” to one person certainly differs from what is “comfort” and “pleasure” to another, and my wife and I have our own definition of “luxury” when we travel by car. No, its not travel by air, and it’s not staying at the premiere hotels and motels, nor eating at upscale restaurants, but for us, whether we travel by car or by using our fifth-wheel, travel is, indeed, luxurious.
